In The Promised Land (1755), Captain Ludvig Kahlen undertakes an ambitious mission to build a colony on the harsh Danish heath, aiming to earn a Royal name. However, he faces opposition from the ruthless Frederik de Schinkel, who claims ownership. The captain's fight intensifies when he shelters refugees from de Schinkel's wrath. Amidst this unequal battle, Kahlen risks not only his life but also the newfound family formed around him.
