Annotation

Movie Rental Family follows a struggling American actor in Tokyo who joins an agency that rents stand-in relatives. He’s hired to pose as a father for a single mother’s school interview and to quietly profile an aging star losing his memory. As the jobs pile up, he starts caring about the people he’s meant to mislead, and the make-believe roles begin to pull him into their real lives.
